Based on the technical accumulation of the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2R series, Michelin has exclusively customized tires with the K1 original mark for the Ferrari F80 supercar. The Ferrari F80 is a 1,200-horsepower hybrid supercar. As the successor to the LaFerrari, this new car has become Ferrari's new generation flagship sports car, attracting the attention of car fans around the world. To suit this outstanding car, Michelin says it started from the ground up and pushed all the limits of performance on dry surfaces to develop the tires.
This top-level tire designed specifically for Ferrari was developed in just 15 months and boasts two world firsts: it borrows technologies from the world of motorsport as well as new processes; and it is also the widest tire Michelin has ever produced for the manufacturer. The F80's front tire size is the classic 285/30 R20, while the rear tire is 345/30 R21 - a size reserved for supercars.
Michelin developed unique modeling systems for tires to simulate the most extreme conditions. These patented and encryption-protected algorithms are "the most advanced in the world" and enabled Michelin to make great progress in virtual research.
Michelin has also spearheaded a "virtual industrial development program" to optimize the tire production process. The F80 tires are manufactured using Michelin's exclusive C3M machines. This production process is the only one of its kind in the world and can produce a tire with an accuracy of 1/10th of a millimeter.
Michelin strives to be the world's leading manufacturer of life-changing compounds and extraordinary experiences. As a company with more than 130 years of innovation in engineered materials, Michelin is uniquely positioned to drive human progress and shape a sustainable future. With its deep expertise in polymer composites, Michelin continues to innovate and manufacture high-quality tires and components to meet critical application needs in a variety of demanding fields, including mobility, construction, aerospace, low-carbon energy, and health care. Michelin's pursuit of product excellence and in-depth understanding of customer needs continue to motivate itself to provide people with the best experience.
In 1898, Michelin established its first mainland China representative office in Beijing. In line with a century-old spirit of innovation, Michelin brought advanced technology and high-quality products to China. At the end of 1995, Michelin Shenyang Tire Co., Ltd. was established. Michelin (China) Investment Co., Ltd. was established in Shanghai in 2001. Currently, Michelin has nearly 7,000 employees and five factories in China, with a sales network throughout the country.
