China's domestic tire factories are spread across the country, including many with large production capacity. According to incomplete statistics, currently, there are 9 domestic tire factories with an annual output of more than 20 million tires:
Linglong Zhaoyuan factory: 36.1 million units
Linglong Tire’s Zhaoyuan factory is Linglong’s largest factory in China, with an annual production capacity of 30 million semi-steel tires, 5.85 million truck and bus tires, and 250,000 off-highway tires, totaling 36.1 million units, which should be the tire factory with the largest actual annual production capacity in China.
Zhongce Xiasha and Dajiangdong factories: 54.75 million units
ZC Rubber's Xiasha and Dajiangdong are ZC's main semi-steel tire production bases. However, according to the latest news at the beginning of 2024, the production lines of the two major factories are open 24 hours a day and operating at full capacity, with a daily production of nearly 150,000 units passenger car tires (annual production capacity 54.75 million units), mainly produces high-end series products of Zhongce.
It is reported that the production capacity of the Xiasha factory is gradually being moved to Dajiangdong. In addition, the annual output of Zhongce Thailand tires has reached 20 million sets.
Sailun Dongying factory: 27 million units
Sailun (Dongying) Tire Co., Ltd. was established in 2008 and currently has more than 1,800 employees. It is one of the semi-steel radial tire production bases with the largest planned production capacity of a single plant in the world. It is mainly engaged in the manufacturing of car radial tires and the production of light truck radial tires. It has independent research and development capabilities for a full range of tire products, with an annual production capacity of 27 million units.
Haohua Tire Weifang factory: 25 million units
Shandong Haohua Tire is located in Houzhen Industrial Park, Shouguang City. Since May 2011, with a total investment of 5.5 billion yuan and an area of more than 2,000 acres, to create a new starting point for Haohua Tire. The Haohua Tire project is divided into: The first and second phases of the semi-steel radial tire production capacity are 20 million sets, the third phase of the all-steel radial tire production capacity is 2 million sets, the fifth phase of the all-steel radial tire production capacity is 3 million sets, the fourth phase of the logistics park project, the total production capacity reached 25 million units.
Wanli Tire Conghua factory: 24 million units
Wanli Tire is the largest radial tire manufacturer and one of the largest radial tire exporters in South China. In 2023, based on the existing production line, Wanli Tire's semi-steel radial tire production line upgrade and transformation project eliminated outdated equipment, filled in appropriate amounts and expanded the production line. After the transformation was completed, the production line capacity has been increased from the current 15 million units/year to 24 million units/year. The efficiency of the single building machine and the per capita output value have increased by more than 60%, and the energy consumption is better than the industry's advanced value.
Maxxis Kunshan factory: 20 million units
Cheng Shin Tire & Rubber (China) Co.,Ltd. was established in Kunshan in July 1993. It mainly produces high-quality radial tires under the "MAXXIS Tire" brand, with an annual production capacity of 20 million units. In 2002, the factory was the first to introduce an RFID+barcode automated management system; in 2012, it took five years and US$150 million to build the largest tire testing ground in Asia; in 2018, it took the lead in introducing Industry 4.0 applications. In 2019, the second phase of the R&D center has also been launched and will continue to develop high-performance products that the market demands.
Zodo Tire: 20 million units
Zodo Tire Co., Ltd. was established in 2011 and located in Caoxian, Heze City. The company has invested 2.5 billion yuan and completed two phases of project construction and production in 2012 and 2015 respectively. At present, the company has an annual production capacity of 20 million sets of high-performance semi-steel radial tires and has 2,500 employees.
Giti Tire Fujian factory: 20 million units
Through investment in new factories and acquisitions, Giti Tire currently has four tire factories in China, namely Anhui, Fujian, Hualin and Yinchuan factories. Fujian Giti Tire is a relatively large tire factory with a total production capacity of approximately 20 million units (56,000 PCR tires per day, 4,000 TBR tires per day, with an additional annual output of 30,000 OTR and track tires); After the planned relocation and completion, Anhui Giti is expected to have an annual production capacity of approximately 20 million PCR tires, approximately 2.6 million TBR tires and other products.
Continental Hefei factory: 22.5 million units
Recently, the production equipment for the fourth phase of Continental's Hefei factory has been gradually put into production and will be gradually put into production in the first quarter of 2024. The fourth phase of the project can produce 8 million passenger car radial tires per year, including 600,000 self-repairing tires and 400,000 silent tires per year.
After the completion of the construction of the fourth phase of the project, the overall annual production capacity of Continental Tire's Hefei plant will reach 21.5 million passenger tires, 600,000 self-repairing tires and 400,000 silent tires, as well as the annual production of 15 million cycle tires.
The actual production capacity of Yongsheng Rubber and Xingyuan Tire factories in Dongying City may have exceeded 20 million units, but there is no official public information. Overall, there are currently more than 10 factories in China with an annual tire production capacity of over 20 million units.
